FIRST PLACE WINNER will receive a cash prize of $2,000 as well as an invitation to perform a complete concerto (or comparable work) with an orchestra during the festival season following the competition. Repertoire for the performance will be based on mutual agreement between the music director and the competition winner. A First Place Winner is not eligible to return for future competitions.
SECOND PLACE WINNER will receive a cash prize of $1,500. Should the First Place Winner be unable to perform with the orchestra, the Second Place Winner will be invited to fulfill this engagement.
THIRD PLACE WINNER will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD WINNER will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
AFFILIATE STUDIO PRIZE: $1,000 will be awarded to the studio of primary instruction, made payable to the institution, that provided the First Place Winner's eligibility to participate in the competition.
ALL OTHER FINALISTS will receive a cash prize of $300.
Please note: All prizewinners must complete appropriate IRS (Internal Revenue Service) forms to receive disbursement of prize monies. Payments of $1,500 or more may be subject to North Carolina or Federal withholding.
Prize Award eligibility is conditional upon authorization for employment in the United States, or otherwise eligible to receive payment under state and federal laws.
